Northern Colorado is becoming one of the fastest growing cities in Colorado.
Larimer and Weld counties will increase from 275,000 to 900,000 people by the year 2030. The dramatic increase in growth is attributed to land availability and cost of housing. Schools such as Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado have helped bring in $2.4 billion to Larimer and Weld counties’ economies which has had a direct impact on the growth of these communities. Northern Colorado has a low unemployment rate at 2% with over 11,700 jobs being added each year. With the increase in population, home builders are finding it difficult to keep single-family homes under $400,000. This will force some future home buyers into renting apartments in the interim.
